BAHMÜLLER gets stronger out of the crisis and invests again in further growth at Plüderhausen site
With the new hall construction and the investment in further assembly and production capacities at the headquarter Plüderhausen, BAHMÜLLER will create the urgently needed conditions for further growth.
Already in 2018, the production capacity was expanded by approx. 1,500 m² through a new hall construction. Due to the strong growth in demand, especially in the corrugated board converting division, a further expansion of production capacities is now on the agenda.
Thanks to appropriate measures and structural adjustments, BAHMÜLLER has come out of the COV-19 crisis very well and, since the beginning of this year, with corresponding increase in order intake.
Across all VDMA sectors of the machinery and plant engineering industry, order intake increased by 72% in April. In addition to the positive development, the very weak months of the previous year played a decisive role in the high growth rates. In April 2020, the order intake minus was - 31% according to VDMA statistic data.
BAHMÜLLER was able to record a clearly positive business development in all divisions in the first 6 month of 2021, which means that we are already significantly above plan in the current expectation at the end of the year. In the grinding machines and corrugated board converting divisions, the 2nd quarter in particular was well above plan in terms of order intake. Assuming that order intake continues to develop positively, we therefore expect to be around 30% ahead of the previous year and 18% ahead of the original order intake forecast by the end of the year.
The expected sales in the current annual forecast 2021 is on the same level than the previous year despite an initially expected decline in sales. Thus, there is a justified prospect that BAHMÜLLER will be able to resume the good development prior to the COV-19 pandemic as soon as possible.
With a further 1,650 sqm of production area and an additional 140 spm of social area, BAHMÜLLER wants to be properly positioned for further growth in Plüderhausen. Completion of the production and assembly hall is scheduled for Feb 2022. These are good prospects for a continued positive employment situation at the Plüderhausen site.
