From project realisation to completion: Panther Packaging goes the extra mile!

“A joint success must also be celebrated together!” thought the Altonaer Wellpappenfabrik and invited representatives from management, technology, pro-ject planning and sales from the participating compa-nies BAHMÜLLER, MuK and HERMA to a joint pro-ject inspection and dinner to mark the successful completion of the project!

The event marked the end of a project period of ap-prox. 3 years. From the initial planning, through the construction of a new production and storage hall, to the installation of the two high-performance TURBOX BTX 2300 folder gluers including POWERPACKER and the fully automatic conveyor technology.

The Altonaer Wellpappenfabrik has once again under-lined its ability to go down special paths and be suc-cessful in doing so, and not just with this project com-pletion.

High level of automation and productivity right from the start

The two TURBOX folder-gluers were installed in a mirror-image arrangement and each was equipped not only with a POWERPACKER - also from BAHMÜLLER - but also with MuK-Ro HE palletizing robots from MuK

The question: How do you achieve a steep ramp-up curve in production right from the start with an inexpe-rienced operating team in the area of folder gluers?

The answer: Through a comprehensive and sophisti-cated training program, which the Altonaer Wellpap-penfabrik ordered in addition to the two lines! The philosophy behind it: The best employees and the best equipment are only as good as the training you give them!

The result: after just a few months, both lines are al-ready working highly productively and in 2 shifts! In 2024, 6 million m² (approx. 10 million packages) were already produced.

Technical development partnership and vision for possible product portfolio

The Altonaer Wellpappenfabrik also demonstrated not only innovative strength during the course of the pro-ject with regard to the product portfolio available in the future, but also a clear view of the bigger picture!

Even before the lines were installed, a development partnership with BAHMÜLLER and HERMA resulted in the complete integration of the labeling process by installing and implementing two labeling machines in each TURBOX line.

The integrated labelers are capable of applying two labels simultaneously to a box at over 170 m/min. The zero-defect concept was continued in both systems with integrated barcode monitoring in order to meet the highest quality standards for the customers of Altonaer Wellpappenfabrik

 

This investment in new production facilities enables Altonaer Wellpappenfabrik to continue to grow in this area and increase added value at the Tornesch site.

An outstanding installation in many respects and an absolutely successful project that everyone can be proud of.

Celebrating in the boathouse

First of all, the participants and invited guests were given a presentation showing the course of the pro-ject in pictures before they went together to the two lines, which were - of course - in full production!

There, they talked technical once again and ex-changed stories from the course of the project and development partnership before heading to the “Zum Bootshaus” restaurant in Wesel together in true style, where the event came to an extremely successful culinary conclusion!

A more than just remarkable gesture from Altonaer Wellpappenfabrik, as the lively participation in this event and the many words of thanks from the invited guests afterwards proved!
