Success for BAHMÜLLER at TURBOX Performance Days
Since the development of the TURBOX in 2006, this SFG-Line has become a success story for BAHMÜLLER. More than 160 installations worldwide are proof of this.
One pillar of this success is the adaptation of the TURBOX to the current needs of existing and new users, continually evolving through customer workshops..
An example of this was the ´TURBOX Performance Days´ event at Liebensteiner Kartonagen in November 2023.
As BAHMÜLLER already presented at this year's FEFCO, one of the most pressing issues currently faced by SFG users is the rampant labor shortage and the need to avoid physically overworking existing staff.
The solution: automation on an FKM from stack to stack.
Therefore BAHMÜLLER has entered into a cooperation with the most renowned provider of robotic solutions upstream and downstream of processing machines: MuK from Elmshorn.
During the three-day BAHMÜLLER | MuK Performance Days at Liebensteiner Kartonagen, BAHMÜLLER and MuK presented to interested customers how this solution approach was was
conceptualized and realized:
All three TURBOX lines installed between 2014 and 2016 at Europes largest sheeplant were equipped with POWERPACKER and MuK MukRo HE (HighEnd) palletizer.
Additionally, the two TURBOX 2300 lines were each equipped with a MuKFEED Robotic Prefeeder. One with the beta version and the second one with the latest model, which is now being
actively marketed. The latest line is dedicated for e-commerce production with an integrated ENPRO WTB system.
BAHMÜLLER and MuK chose an interesting format for the demonstration of this technology: Each sales representative had four dedicated slots on each of the three days to which they could
invite parties already considering automation solutions.
For up to two hours, each representative exclusively engaged with each group of customers, explaining the technology directly at the machines in live production and addressing questions.
In fact, the interest in the topic of automation from stack to stack exceeded all expectations. Within a very short space of time, the various slots during the three days were fully booked and in some
cases even overbooked!
Naturally, all participants were initially amazed by impressive operations of the host.
However, the most pleasing aspect was the consistently positive response to the format of presentation and the installations as well as their performance itself presented by BAHMÜLLER and MuK Technology.
The visitors were impressively shown the possibilities opened up by such installations.
In addition to the positive feedback, BAHMÜLLER and MuK were also able to take away some valuable suggestions for future projects.
Erol Gencoglu, Head of Production at Model CH-Weinfelden company, said:
“The Liebensteiner plant is impressive and offers ideal conditions in terms of space requirements for stack-to-stack automation from BAHMÜLLER and MuK. The availability of MuK Robotic
solutions in the Swiss Model plants has reached 99%.”
More impressions from other participants:
“The overall Liebensteiner concept is absolutely convincing that such degree of automation is economically feasible! This experience convinced us in thinking about such a solution for
ourselves.”
“The format of the guided slots is ideal if you are already working on the topic and have already thought about it, because you can then get in-depth answers to questions directly at the running
production line.”
Ulrich Wolz, COO of BAHMÜLLER added: “We were overwhelmed by the attendance. More than 60 participants visited the event. This is a proof of how many companies currently are making their mind up to fully automated lines! Theapproach we did to introduce our solution also has been adapted
by the customers very well and we received absolutely positive feedback on both: The format and the solutions for automation we presented! Liebensteiner is one of those companies you can do new developments with and we are grateful to the owners for allowing us to showcase all our solutions at their impressive facility.”
